People not understanding the ending; Donny isn’t becoming a stalker - he finally realizes that he did nothing wrong when that bartender helped him the way he helped Martha, he can hopefully begin to heal and move on now that he has realized he’s not to blame. As in real life he is clearly doing a lot better as the actor who play Donny is the same man who wrote the story - Richard Dunn, and it is based off his own life.
