I’m glad the trio hasn’t retired fully yet. It was a fun road trip adventure across Norway, Sweden and Finland in a similar classic style to their older Top Gear specials. I did enjoy it and I liked seeing the trio. However, I wished it was directed more like some of their better, more entertaining and cinematic specials rather than the classical directional style they chose. Some of the shots and format did feel a bit too much like the same thing, but there were some nice humorous moments tangled in. Also, I won’t be as satisfied as others with the ‘petrolhead’ talk since I don’t watch it for car talk but for adventure. Generally, the direction and writing felt mediocre. The editing was not good but wasn’t bad. However, the guys are entertaining enough to forgive some of this special’s issues in its execution. Overall it was another satisfying road-trip adventure special with Hammond, Clarkson and May, which is great if you’re a fan of the trio and their road-trip adventure specials.
