Fades (Pass the Distance)
An impulsive act sends Talia into a terrifying spiral. D's obsession with revenge reaches an unsettling new level of violence.

Okay, we're halfway through the season, and yeah, we've got action, some great new characters, and all that good stuff! 🔥🙌🏻
But I feel like there's a lack of character development, or maybe the story just isn't moving forward enough. I'm not sure how to put it, but even after watching five episodes, I still don't feel that strong connection to the characters that I was hoping for. 😕
The pacing feels a bit slow, but I can see the potential in characters like D, Talia, the kid, and the others. There's so much they could do with them! I really hope the next five episodes change things because, at this point in S1, I was already so invested in the story, whereas here, I'm still struggling to feel that same connection.
Let's hope the second half picks things up and makes things better! 🤞🏻🔥

S02 E04 · Someone That I Used to Know
Wow, actually a pretty good ep. Capri deadass might just be the best character so far which is so funny to me 😂
I thought that D would be pissed off for what she did to him but the fact that their actually working together makes for such an interesting dynamic. She's cool asf even though she causes total carnage to everyone. That stuff at arasaka was so confusing, and especially that DAVID MARTINEZ MENTION??? A plot and B plot have finally come together, and this was an amazing choice imo instead of focusing on 2 different plots. Ending was also fucking insane.

Funnily enough, this was exactly the type episode that season 2 needed. The introduction of what seems to be our new main antagonist Kyoki/Capri was really interesting but I'm also so damn confused... The other subplot with Kingsley and Talia was pretty good, and him realising that she might be experiencing the same cyberpsychosis that he had must be devastating. Soooo glad we finally got an episode that gave us more development for characters but at the same time also giving more screentime dedicated to action with the whole thing regarding D. Easily the best episode yet, super entertaining and I'm starting to really appreciate the use of music in emotional scenes, especially the ones nearing the end of the ep.

Give Me Another Day
A desperate call drags Weak back into danger to save a rebellious teen. As D bonds with a young cinephile, painful flashbacks fuel his thirst for revenge.
3.77 / 5 average rating on SerializdS02 E02 · Give Me Another Day
Talia is probably gonna be another Lucy, and I think this anime so far is trying to build a dynamic between Roman and her but that last scene just felt so forced idk. D and Kingsley are pretty chill and I'm interested to learn more about them. I'll say that this is a bit better than the opener but this season so far is 100% trying to be different than s1, I appreciate the slower approach but I just can't really connect with any of the characters especially when we're jumping around scenes with the main cast (which is like 5 people). If there was a clear one single main protagonist like David, I feel like this would be so much better, and needing to make a complete story in 10 episodes which are all 20 minutes just doesn't help.
Also the endings to these episodes are just flat out HORRIBLE.

THE BLADE
Yhwach simultaneously appears in the Seireitei, the World of the Living, and Hueco Mundo.
4.44 / 5 average rating on SerializdGreat episode
Seeing zangetsu and grimmjow’s massive upscale was my favourite moment of the episode. The direction of this episode was Superb also hearing number one again❤️🩹music to my ears. And those warrant my high ratings but I do have a few things that limit this episode for me (excluding aizen)
Firstly the stakes didn’t feel as high in comparison to the prior episodes. The month wait for sure dwindled down the hype for me, and waiting a month for this episode felt interesting… and for me yhwach did not feel threatening in comparison to other episodes and in the penultimate this is where he should be feeling threatening. For example in ep 46 when he received the almighty eyes back I was in genuine fear because he beat the shit out of everyone. Whereas now his power feels rather superficial because there’s an arrow that all of a sudden beats him.

I absolutely loved S1 in every way possible! The animation style, character designs, story, EVERYTHING! 🔥🤌🏼
Before starting this episode, I watched a 12-minute recap of S1 to refresh my memory 😅 Because it's been so long since 2022! And honestly, it made me feel sad all over again about David and Lucy's love story. Sad but beautiful. 💔🥹
As for S2, I think it's off to a good start! Since S1 already had a complete story, I'm glad this season is introducing new characters instead of directly continuing the previous story. I'm already liking the new characters, and I'm so excited for another crazy adventure! 🔥🚀
Also, that young kid gives me young Christopher Nolan vibes! 😂 His love for films is something I can totally relate to. I'm with that kid on this one: THERE'S NO END TO FILMS, NO MATTER HOW MUCH THE WORLD CHANGES IN THE FUTURE! 🎬🤌🏼❤️
